We have both been baptized and confirmed, and we are both practicing Catholics.
We are happy to be taking the time to put a focus on preparing for our marriage. Our faiths have helped build the strong foundation for our lives together, and we look forward to our commitment to each other as husband and wife.
We both believe that marriage is a covenant and partnership for the whole of life.
We participated in the local weekend Pre-Cana Marriage Preparation Program with the Archdiocese of Boston!
We discussed important topics such as:
-Self-Knowledge
-Communication
-Problem Solving
-Expectations
-What is Love?
-What is Marriage?
-What is Sacramental Marriage?
-The Rite of Marriage
-Finances
-Spiritual Practices for Marriage and Family Life
-Marital Sexuality
-Preserving in Love as a Married Couple
1 Corinthians 13:13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
“There are a few rules I know to be true about love and marriage: If you don’t respect the other person, you’re gonna have a lot of trouble. If you don’t know how to compromise, you’re gonna have a lot of trouble. If you can't talk opening about what goes on between you, you’re gonna have a lot of trouble. And if you don’t have a common set of values in life, you’re gonna have a lot of trouble. Your values must be alike. And the biggest one of those values? Your belief in the importance of your marriage.” - Tuesdays with Morrie
